The Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA, ss 7 and 8) states that only trained and authorized persons 16 years of age and older, including supervisory and non-supervisory personnel, may use forklifts (18 years for use on construction sites). It is the responsibility of the employer (LSST, section 51) to ensure that all operators have the appropriate training and certification necessary for the safe use of equipment in the workplace.

* PERMANENT SERVICE OFFERED ON THE ISLANDS*

Your local driving school now offers training (theoretical and practical) to obtain the certification recognized by the CNESST to operate as a forklift driver, responsible and concerned about his own safety and the one of others in their environment. We are now certified trainers to provide forklift training for businesses and individuals (for smaller scale needs).

At the end of the course, the student:

• will be able to estimate the weight of a load,

• know the basic principles as well as the risks involved in driving a forklift,

• will be able to inspect the machine and perform the basic maneuvers.

Personalized training offered to companies, according to the models of forklifts desired, in the working environment of the participants and with work situations that correspond to the realities of your workers!
